We are seeking a talented individual to join our Controllership team at Marsh. This role will be based in Singapore. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
The Marsh Singapore Controller is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing financial management and control functions across 16 legal entities, including 7 regulated entities in Singapore and Labuan. You will lead a team of high-performing finance and risk management professionals to ensure excellence in financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls, collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders.
We will count on you to:
Lead and ensure accurate and timely completion of US GAAP and Statutory Financial Statements for multiple entities.
Manage stakeholder relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to senior management and business leaders on financial matters.
Oversee monthly close processes, financial reporting, compliance with statutory, regulatory, and tax requirements in Singapore and Labuan.
Manage SOX, internal, and external audits, ensuring consistent policy application and timely resolution of queries.
Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
Oversee cash management, working capital optimization, foreign exchange exposure, and banking relationships.
Lead and coordinate mergers & acquisitions projects, systems implementation, and other assigned projects.
What you need to have:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or equivalent Chartered Accountant or equivalent certification is a must.
15-20 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 5 years in a Controller or senior finance leadership role within a large multinational corporation, preferably in Banking, Insurance, or Insurance broking. Audit experience with Big 4 preferred.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP, Singapore Financial Reporting Standards, Singapore tax regulations, internal controls, and risk management frameworks relevant to insurance and risk management.
Proven ability to lead change in a transforming, matrixed organization and improve financial processes.
