Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Financial Controller to lead our financial governance, compliance, and reporting functions. As a key member of the leadership team, you will ensure adherence to SGX Catalist listing rules, support strategic financial planning, and maintain strong internal controls. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in regulatory compliance, corporate reporting, and financial oversight within a public company environment. You will play a pivotal role in enabling sustainable growth and providing critical financial insights to senior management.
Key Responsibilities
1. SGX Catalist Compliance & Financial Reporting
- Ensure full compliance with SGX Catalist listing requirements, IFRS/SFRS standards, and corporate governance frameworks.
- Lead the preparation and submission of quarterly, annual reports, and regulatory filings.
- Manage engagements with SGX sponsors, auditors, legal advisors, and regulatory bodies on all disclosure and compliance matters.
- Oversee corporate tax planning, GST submissions, and other statutory filings.
2. Internal Controls & Financial Governance
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve internal control systems, financial policies, and governance procedures.
- Lead and manage internal and external audits to ensure compliance and financial accuracy.
- Conduct compliance reviews and risk assessments to safeguard company assets and mitigate risks.
- Review and approve key financial agreements, contracts, and vendor commitments.
3. Treasury & Cash Flow Management
- Oversee cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and capital allocation.
- Optimize working capital and manage financial risks.
- Maintain strong relationships with banks, lenders, and other financial institutions to support funding and financing needs.
4. Business Performance & Cost Management
- Develop and monitor financial KPIs, performance dashboards, and profitability metrics.
- Lead budget planning, cost control, and variance analysis to support operational efficiency.
- Drive initiatives to reduce costs, improve margins, and ensure alignment with financial plans.
5. Financial Systems & Process Optimization
- Lead upgrades or implementation of ERP systems and financial software to enhance reporting and operational efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for process automation and digital transformation within finance functions.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and insightful financial reporting.
6. Strategic Financial Advisory
- Serve as a key advisor to the CEO and Board, providing strategic financial insights and business recommendations.
- Support mergers, acquisitions, restructuring, and business expansion initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to align financial planning with corporate strategy.
Job Requirements
- Professional accounting qualification: CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of senior financial leadership experience, preferably within an SGX-listed or publicly listed company.
- Deep understanding of SGX Catalist compliance, financial reporting standards, and governance practices.
- Proven experience working with auditors, regulators, and financial institutions.
- Proficient in ERP and financial tools such as SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, or Power BI.
- Exposure to treasury management, M&A, and corporate restructuring is a strong advantage.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
