Job Description

Role Description:

The Financial Analyst is responsible for conducting financial analysis, preparing reports, and providing insights that support decision-making within the organization. This role involves analyzing financial data, identifying trends, forecasting future financial performance, and helping senior management optimize financial performance. The Financial Analyst works closely with various departments, including accounting, budgeting, and operations, to ensure financial strategies align with business goals and objectives.

Key responsibilities include performing financial modeling, analyzing key financial statements, preparing financial reports and presentations, assisting in budget preparation, and monitoring financial performance. The Financial Analyst will also help identify cost-saving opportunities, evaluate investment opportunities, and support long-term financial planning efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Financial Analysis & Modeling: Strong skills in financial analysis, including creating and maintaining financial models (e.g., discounted cash flow, ROI analysis, and variance analysis). Ability to analyze key financial metrics, trends, and forecasts.
  • Financial Reporting: Experience in preparing and presenting financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ability to interpret financial data and present findings to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statements. Familiarity with general ledger, revenue recognition, and financial reporting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
  • Excel & Financial Software: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas, pivot tables, financial functions, and data visualization. Familiarity with financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks) is a plus.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Experience in supporting or preparing annual budgets, financial forecasts, and cash flow projections. Ability to analyze variances and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail when analyzing financial data and preparing reports. Ability to identify discrepancies, inconsistencies, and potential errors in financial documents.
  • Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business operations and strategy, with the ability to analyze financial data within the broader context of business objectives. Ability to evaluate investment opportunities and assist in strategic decision-making.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to present complex financial information in a clear, concise manner to senior management and other departments.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify financial issues, interpret data, and offer actionable solutions. Ability to assess risks and opportunities based on financial data.
  • Time Management & Multitasking: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks and manage workload effectively.
  • Collaboration & Teamwork: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including finance, accounting, and operations. Comfortable providing financial insights and recommendations to support business decisions.
  • Education: A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as CFA, CPA, or FMVA (Financial Modeling & Valuation Analyst) are a plus.
  • Experience: Previous experience in finance or accounting, either through internships, academic projects, or prior work experience, is preferred. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure are key to succeeding in this role.
