Located in Singapore, this is a regional role supporting the business operations and finance functions of multiple countries under the direction of the regional VP. Emphasis is on managing tax issues, tax compliance projects, and seeing to the correction of the related accounting in the region.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Manage daily operations in finance and regional and international tax matters.
· Develop accounting processes and oversee correction of books in small markets
· Compile financial information to prepare tax returns, financial statements and footnotes
· Reconcile tax accounts, prepares documentation and appropriate journal entries.
· Manage cash flows and cash projection reporting and forecasts
· Represent the Company in regional tax related issues; assist with organising and presenting rebuttals to audit findings
· Review/prepares tax returns and work-papers (corporate tax, GST/VAT, withholding tax), and review/calculates estimated tax payments as required.
· Prepare APAC region's quarterly and yearly income tax provision calculations and analysis.
· Assist with coordination, tracking, and management of tax compliance and other matters for subsidiaries in the APAC and International regions.
· Compiles information for APAC and foreign tax audits.
· Liaise with other departments regarding tax compliance, statutory filings, and other tax related matters relating to operations requirements.
· Liaise with external tax consulting firm for corporate tax and indirect tax compliance filings.
· Keep up to date with regional and international tax law changes.
Essential Requirements
· Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles is required
· Bachelors/Master's in Accounting, Finance or related discipline, or professional accounting degree such as ACCA, CIMA.
· Previous related tax and accounting experience (3 to 5 years) with exposure to APAC countries would be of an advantage
· Broad knowledge of corporate income and indirect tax, tax accounting and reporting, generally accepted accounting principles, applications and accounting systems.
· Manufacturing background a nice to have.
· Singapore Accredited Tax Professional (SIATP) certification or Chartered Accountant (CA) candidate preferred
· Meticulous and detail oriented
· Hands-on and can do attitude
· Strong communication, analytical, and report writing skills
