Finance Specialist (Entry Level)

About the Role

POET Technologies is seeking a Junior Finance Specialist to join our finance team. This entry-level role is suitable for diploma holders who are starting or building their career in accounting and finance, including fresh graduates. You will support daily accounting operations and gain hands-on exposure to accounts payable, accounts receivable and month-end closing activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in accounts payable and receivable, including accurate data entry of invoices and timely processing of payments
• Process and update invoices, payment records, databases and spreadsheets
• Assist in processing staff claims and expense reimbursements
• Assist in bank reconciliations and payables reconciliations
• Support month-end closing activities, including preparation of supporting schedules
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and vendors on basic invoicing and payment queries
• Maintain proper filing and documentation of finance records
• Support statutory audit and tax requirements, and other ad-hoc finance tasks as assigned

Requirements

• Diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field candidates with no prior working experience are welcome to apply, and internship or work experience in accounting or finance is an advantage
• Basic understanding of accounting principles knowledge of SFRS is a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) knowledge of ERP (NetSuite) is an added advantage
• Good attention to detail and organizational skills
• Good communication skills, with a positive attitude and eagerness to learn
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
