. Oversee and manage the overall Finance function of the organisation
Finance
. Manage & coordinate outsourced Finance Partner, TNPL in maintaining full set of accounts which includes invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets register & tagging, financial general ledger
. Ensure timely submission and responsible in preparation of full set accounts, monthly financial reporting, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow
. Support the Finance Committee/Board in the application of finance policy to support financial planning and management decisions
The Finance Officer reports directly to the Executive Director and works closely with leadership to foster a positive, mission-driven workplace culture.
Corporate Governance
Compliance & Internal Control
. Ensure adherence to accounting standards and company's financial policy and procedures
. Support and co-ordinate Internal Audits as required
. Liaise with MCCY on governance & compliance matters
. Handle IPC renewal application and submissions to MCCY
Finance Scope of Work
TNPL Partner Liaison
. Manage and coordinate external finance partner to execute the following on an accurate and timely basis:
External Claims
. Process and pay 3rd party vendors including seeking Executive Director/Treasurer approvals and executing payments through bank transfer
. Prepare summary report of verified payments to TNPL to facilitate monthly financial statements reporting (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
Financial Reporting
. Liaise and verify with WEFC weekly church donations and prepare tax receipts to donors accordingly
. Collate financial data required on a monthly basis to TNPL for preparation of monthly financial statements includes the following:
. Liaise with TNPL on any issues in the prepared financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
. Submit monthly Actuals vs Budget Report to Treasurer
. Proper accounting and recording of Fixed Assets while ensuring accuracy, completeness, timeliness and data integrity of all financial data.
Bank deposits
. Liaise with banks and financial institutions on WSC's fixed deposits
. Track and manage fixed deposits to maximize returns through best placement options
. Calculate interest income for yearly budget
Cash Flow Management
. Monitor funds in our accounts to ensure sufficient funds are available for monthly payments
Annual Planning/Budgeting & Financial Audit
. Assist Executive Director & Board in annual budget planning that includes coordination with internal departments, presentation to Board for approval
. Assist Board & Management in coordinating with External Auditor on annual financial audits
. A diploma or degree in Business Administration, Finance or equivalent
. At least 5-7 years experience (VWO/IPC experience preferred)
. Hands-on approach with good interpersonal communication and negotiation skills.
. Good command of English and well-versed with MS Office applications and payroll & leave processing.
. Comfortable engaging Senior Management, presentation at committee, Board meetings, minute taking
. Meticulous and excellent numeric skills with attention to details
