About The Role
Financial Management & Compliance
- Oversee all accounting and financial activities for the Singapore office.
- Support annual budgeting and monitor operating expenses, including variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with Singapore Law Society rules, Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR), IRAS requirements, and statutory obligations of the Singapore LLP.
- Manage cash flow, forecasts, bank mandates, and relationships with external auditors, tax advisers, and regulatory bodies.
- Coordinate annual SAR audits and maintain strong internal controls.
Billing & Collections
- Manage the full billing and collections lifecycle for assigned partners and client portfolios.
- Ensure compliance with client billing guidelines, e-billing requirements, and engagement terms.
- Partner with attorneys to develop collection strategies and provide portfolio analysis and forecasting.
- Oversee GST application, credit notes, alternative fee arrangements, and rate updates.
- Deliver meaningful financial reporting and insights to support matter management and profitability.
Accounts Payable, Trust & Receivables
- Oversee invoice approvals, vendor onboarding, and payment processes.
- Manage client trust accounting, reconciliations, and regulatory compliance under SAR.
- Monitor daily cash receipts and ensure accurate and timely application of payments.
- Prepare and submit quarterly GST filings in accordance with IRAS requirements.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Work closely with global Finance teams to ensure alignment with firmwide policies and processes.
- Contribute to financial operations projects and process improvements.
- Support onboarding and training of new joiners on finance systems and procedures.
- Model the Firm's client service principles, professionalism, and confidentiality standards
About You
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years experience in billing and general accounting within a law firm or professional services environment.
- Strong working knowledge of SAR (essential).
- Experience with GST compliance and Singapore regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in MS Office (advanced Excel skills preferred); experience with Elite 3E is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Strong sense of accountability, discretion, and client service orientation.
