Finance Manager

About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Finance Manager to oversee the full spectrum of financial and accounting operations. You will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. This position requires a hands-on leader who can manage daily accounting activities, lead the annual audit process, and support strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will be forward-thinking and eager to explore new technologies, such as AI and Copilot, to enhance financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting & Closing: Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes. Review all journals, reconciliations (Bank, AP, AR, GL, Intercompany), and balance sheet schedules to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.

• Operational Accounting: Manage daily accounting operations and troubleshoot issues. Review payment processes (PO/DO/INV), oversee stock take procedures and variance analysis, and ensure accurate cross-billing and intercompany transactions.

• Compliance & Audit: Liaise with external auditors to oversee the Annual External Audit and prepare financial statements. Ensure all audit issues are resolved. Coordinate with tax agents on Corporate Income Tax (ECI) and tax computations, and submit quarterly GST reports to IRAS.

• Cash Flow & Treasury: Prepare and review daily cash forecasts to ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs. Support the Finance Director with banking matters and intercompany funding arrangements (including GIRO collections and payments).

• Systems & Reconciliation: Oversee the reconciliation between operational systems and the accounting system. Ensure period-end closing in all systems and prepare necessary journal entries.

• Accounts Receivable: Monitor and update the collectability status and GIRO collection reports.

• Reporting & Analysis: Review Profit & Loss statements and flux analysis with department heads. Prepare financial reports and ad-hoc requests for management.

• Internal Controls: Review and test internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure process integrity.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A professional qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is highly preferred.

• Proven experience in a Finance Manager role or similar senior finance position.

• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, tax regulations (GST, Corporate Tax), and audit processes.

• Proficiency in accounting software.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

• A proactive approach to process improvement and a willingness to explore and implement new technologies, including AI tools.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage deadlines and work collaboratively with various departments.
