EASTERN HARVEST FOODS (SINGAPORE) PTE LTD We are established in 2006 as an importer and distributor of frozen seafood and Japanese food catering to local demands. Eastern Harvest Foods has been progressing rapidly over the years to meet the expanding needs of the market. It has now grown to be one of the major suppliers of frozen seafood and Japanese food products in Singapore. Having forged close connections with our business partners and having strong support from our customers, Eastern Harvest Foods has diversified and extended its distribution network. Our distribution network spans wholesalers, wet markets, minimarts & supermarkets, food caterings, restaurants, hotels, school and retail stalls. With a team of refrigerated trucks, we provide daily delivery of our products to customers in Singapore. Also, we export our products to South-East Asia countries. Our food supply chain spans across the world. Our products come from the countries of Vietnam, China, Thailand, Korea, Japan, Indonesia, New Zealand, Chile, USA, France, Holland and Norway. With the cordial support from our overseas business partners, we ensure that our customers have a constant supply of a variety of foods.
Job Summary
The Finance Manager oversees day-to-day accounting, finance operations, compliance and strategic planning. This role is pivotal in ensuring financial discipline, guiding business decisions, and enhancing finance-related processes and policies to support business operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage month-end and year-end closing activities to deliver complete and accurate financial results
- Develop annual budgets and conduct detailed variance analysis to identify key trends and risks, informing management decisions
- Analyze costs, pricing, inventory, and sales results against business plans to provide actionable recommendations for performance improvement
- Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable processes to ensure timely collections and payments, optimizing cash flow planning for operational needs
- Execute foreign exchange transactions and advise on hedging strategies to mitigate currency risks
- Strengthen and enforce internal control systems to safeguard company assets, prevent fraud, and ensure compliance with internal policies and statutory regulations
- Oversee preparation of financial statements and coordinate with external auditors to facilitate smooth annual audits
- Collaborate with tax consultants to manage corporate income tax matters and ensure timely submission of statutory returns
- Supervise and mentor the finance team by setting clear goals, fostering continuous improvement, and developing a high-performing team culture
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels to support strategic financial planning and business growth
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field
- Proven experience in finance roles within FMCG trading or related industries
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills with a hands-on approach
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong capability in financial analysis
- Highly reliable and adaptable to a dynamic, fast-paced work environment
