As Finance and Accounting Manager, you will report directly to the founders and spearhead our efforts to build an in-house finance team. An ideal candidate has finance experience working in a top consulting firm, investment bank, startup, e-commerce company, or venture capital firm.
Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Develop and manage the budget and rolling forecasts, ensuring alignment with Dr. Shiba's strategic objectives.
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making, including profitability, revenue trends, and cost efficiencies.
- Monitor the financial performance of the company across all markets (currently Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, and the UK - other markets will follow), identifying risks and opportunities.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management
- Oversee and actively lead cash flow management to ensure adequate liquidity for daily operations and expansion initiatives.
- Optimize working capital, including managing accounts receivable, payable, and inventory.
Reporting & Compliance
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with local tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements in all operating markets.
- Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors for the timely submission of audited financial statements and tax filings.
Business Partnering
- Partner with marketing, sales, and operations teams to assess the financial viability of new product launches, promotional campaigns, and geographic expansion.
- Provide actionable insights to optimize pricing strategies and improve gross margins.
Accounting Processes
- Build and implement accounting processes and systems, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
- Liaise with the external accounting team to handle daily operations, including bookkeeping, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Establish internal controls and policies to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with local regulations.
Financial Systems & Processes
- Lead the implementation and improvement of financial systems to streamline operations and reporting.
- Develop scalable finance processes to support the company's growth in Southeast Asia, Europe, and beyond.
Strategic Initiatives
- Collaborate with the leadership team to evaluate and execute equity & debt fundraising, M&A, or joint venture opportunities.
- Contribute to long-term strategic planning and investment decisions to accelerate growth.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of professional experience with a proven track record
- Finance experience in a top consulting firm, investment bank, startup, e-commerce company, or venture capital firm
- Experience in both equity and debt financing
- Excellent analytical skills and a solution-oriented mindset
- Do-whatever-it-takes attitude and uncompromising work ethic
- Outstanding communication (English) skills
- An undergrad degree from a top university
