Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and hands-on, detail-oriented finance professional with strong controllership and analytical skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day finance operations for key Singapore entities, ensuring robust financial controls, and delivering accurate management reporting and analyses to support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Control, Closing & Reporting:
- Act as the PIC for the timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing for key Singapore entities (e.g., CU Lines Pte Ltd, Sg vessel SPVs, overseeing UGL PTE).
- Review, approve all matters relating to closing of accounts, and ensure all intercompany reconciliations are performed in a timely manner.
- Prepare and review management reports, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
- Oversee the preparation of the group consolidation for the Singapore entities.
- Lead the year-end statutory audit processes for all assigned entities, liaising with external auditors.
2. Treasury & Asset Management:
- Manage daily treasury operations.
- Oversee cash flow forecasting and work with the treasury team to optimize financial resources.
- Manage bank guarantees (BGs), deposits, and bank account administration for overseas entities.
- Provide treasury support and backup, ensuring continuity in cash management and reporting.
- Oversee the financial aspects of asset management for the ship management company and its related SPVs.
- Support the financing efforts & projects, working with lenders from due diligence till drawdown, and the subsequent loan administration work.
3. Process Improvement & Business Partnering:
- Act as a finance business partner to the operations and commercial teams, fostering better collaboration and understanding between finance and operations.
- Enhance and standardize accounting practices, SOPs, and financial controls within the Singapore scope.
- Participate in system implementation projects when necessary.
- Any other tasks which may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree holder in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Qualified member of a recognized professional accounting body (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant finance experience in an MNC/established enterprises environment.
- Proven experience in a hands-on finance manager with prior experience in the shipping, logistics, or a related industry being a strong advantage.
Essential Skills & Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in financial modelling, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Able to collaborate effectively with people from different levels, functions, and cultural backgrounds.
- Proficiency in English and Mandarin to effectively liaise with Mandarin-speaking counterparts.
- Experience in major financial ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
