Job Purpose / Role:
Reporting to Regional Head of Finance Operations, you are responsible to oversee all finance reporting needs for Retail Businesses covering International Health, Automotive, and Bancassurance in both Singapore and Hong Kong. Your role is to enable accurate and timely deliverables of both internal and regulatory reporting, ensuring compliance with financial internal control procedures and guidelines. On a strategic front, you will be working closely with Regional Head of Accounting - Asia and various AIS Global functions to harmonize multiple retail systems to support global data need for IFRS17 for the Retail Business segment.
You will be involved in AIS core business to consistently assess and improve the efficiency of existing processes within AGCS APAC Finance. You will also act as deputy to the Regional Head of Finance Operations to ensure AIS Finance processes are in line with corporate frameworks, controls, and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Improve efficiency of coordination, transfer and reconciliation of data from interfaces of front-end systems - Focus on Retail business in SG and HK
- As a Reviewer, you are responsible to validate and post monthly and quarterly journal entries (both technical and non-technical) and review account reconciliations on a timely manner.
- Work jointly with the Finance teams of affiliated Allianz companies to achieve smooth reconciliations and settlements of intercompany transactions, both technical and non-technical, within the affiliated company group for the Retail Business.
- Oversee retail bank account Cashflow Management and Controls processes, ensuring discrepancies are addressed and resolved in a systematic and timely manner.
- Timely execution and fulfillment of internal and external reporting and related audit requirements
- Extensive collaboration with multiple functions and understand multiple feeder systems to drive the Strategic Retail Business solution
- Undertake strategic assignments by CFO office such as SAP Cloud report design, IFRS17 Asia factory, and other strategic project
Key Experience / Requirements / Skills:
Required Education:
- Tertiary qualification, preferably in Business, Finance, Accountancy, IT or Business Analytics.
- Candidates with Professional accounting/finance qualification would be advantageous.
Required Experience:
- Over 10 years of finance experience in the General Insurance industry. Experience with Health, Personal Lines and Motor insurance products would be an advantage.
- Solid experience in dealing with data mapping / data migration issues / system implementation
- Analytical Thinking and Numeracy: Ability to identify patterns and root causes in complex data (e.g. ambiguous, from various sources) and processes to rapidly distill key issues and provide insight in various situations.
- Communication and Presentation Skills: Ability to understand, elaborate and convey information clearly and effectively to the audience from different business functions (both verbal and in writing).
- Problem Solving Ability: Ability to identify issues and propose appropriate remediation actions and follow through accordingly.
- Ability to work under pressure and uncertainty.
- Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. Fluency in Chinese or other Asian languages is considered a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (basic functions, pivot tables, macros).
- Ability to handle complex processes (closing, reporting, finance operations) including understanding of data flows.
- Advanced knowledge of SAP and other data management applications, including writing scripts / queries to extract accurate data from systems for reporting purpose effectively and efficiently.
- Ability to demonstrate various coding skills will be highly advantageous.
