Our client is a top notch and international name within the professional service sector based in town. The co offers a WFH arrangement of 2 days per week.
This is an 18-months contract role offering 2 months completion bonus at the end of the 1st 12 months for a good performer. If the cand completes the subsequent 6 months (after completing the 1st 12 months), there will be an added 1-month completion bonus. The medical /insurance benefits extended are also like what is given to the company's perm staff.
POSITION SUMMARY
In this 18-month contractual role, we are looking for an experienced professional to drive day-to- day operations and provide leverage to transform our finance processes. Responsibilities will cover 6 countries across SE Asia, touching on all core areas of financial accounting as well as managing/supporting ad hoc projects.
To be successful, the individual should be able to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment, comfortable working with various internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will integrate seamlessly into our diverse and experienced finance team, creating operational efficiencies.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Financial Accounting & Compliance
Support the monthly and year-end closing activities (financial and management aspects) across our 6 markets, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Support year end audits, managing and coordinating audit processes, liaising with external auditors, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Review/reconcile financial and management numbers for accuracy, suggesting course of action if any adjustments are needed
Review and ensure timely and accurate filing of GST/VAT/SST returns, including reconciliation of related accounts.
Work with internal/external tax team on tax audits across SE Asia, tax refund process, includes preparing supporting documentation, resolving issues/discrepancies from tax office, monitoring progress, and updating leadership
Work with our Vietnam provider on business and compliance matters
Support the team on payroll and mobility-related matters - Projects and Process Improvements
Review permanent establishment for SEA entities, support tax activities (e.g. intercompany transactions, profit remittance, withholding tax requirements, debt to equity loan agreements, MY service tax refund application)
Critically review current processes, suggest improvements, and collaboratively implement improvements
Undertake and support ad hoc projects aligned with business needs, working alongside the team to implement changes while managing stakeholders
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting with minimum of 8-10+ years of relevant post-qualification experience gained with MNCs (background in audit & assurance preferred)
- Has hands-on experience handling month end reporting, year-end reporting, tax compliance and audit matters
- Track record of delivering work on-time and zero defect experience in a multi- geography/currency context preferred
- Excellent English communication skills (Written and verbal), ability to effectively communicate accounting information, policies, and/or procedures
- Added SEA exposure (e.g. Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia) besides Singapore is preferred but this is not a must
- Ability to analyze financial data and think critically
- Strong systems proficiency in Excel to synthesize data
- Ability to understand concepts and data flows while offering opinions and ideas for improvement.
- Ability to learn financial systems and reporting tools (e.g., SAP, Workday, Tableau).
- Meticulous and capable of working multiple projects independently and as a team.
- Flexible and adaptable to change with a passion for results
- An ethical individual that acts with high levels of integrity at all times.
- Able to commit to a 18-month assignment.
- Very team based. Hands-on, detailed, committed, professional with strong stakeholder management skills
- Self-starter who learns fast and has a good work attitude.
