About The Role
We are seeking a Finance Executive on a 7-month contract to provide maternity cover for a member of our Finance team. The contract may be extended depending on business needs.
As a Finance Executive at Lucence, you will play a key role in supporting core financial operations. This role supports accurate financial reporting, timely collections from hospitals and research partners, regulatory compliance, and FP&A activities in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute invoicing and payment processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal controls.
- Support 3-way matching processes and supplier reconciliations to facilitate timely and accurate payment processing.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and promptly resolve any variances.
- Prepare monthly financial reports to support timely financial closing across entities.
- Prepare and submit quarterly GST filings to IRAS in accordance with local tax regulations.
- Support year-end external audits and liaise with external auditors when required.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with research, operations, and commercial teams across Singapore, the US, and Hong Kong to ensure financial accuracy and accountability.
- Assist the Senior Finance Manager and Finance Manager in budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in financial systems, workflows, and internal policies.
- Take ownership of tasks and progressively manage responsibilities more independently.
Role Requirements
Must-Haves
- ACCA certification, a Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, or currently pursuing a related qualification.
- Strong spreadsheet skills (Excel or Google Sheets) with the ability to work with data, perform reconciliations, and organise financial information clearly.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with numbers accurately.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset.
- Candidates with limited or no prior finance experience are welcome to apply if they demonstrate strong analytical ability, a great attitude, and a willingness to learn.
Nice-to-Haves
- Familiarity with financial systems such as NetSuite.
- Experience working in start-ups or fast-growing environments.
