General Role
Responsible for the financial, internal control and legal administration aspects of the subsidiary. Advises the MD on any necessary financial, taxation, compliance, and legal issues. Provides leadership and coordination in the financial control, accounting, budgeting and internal control.
Key Responsibilities
1. Finance &Accounting
l Manages the preparation of financial statements, reports, special analysis etc.
l Prepares yearly budget and strategic yearly plans (B+2). Monitors the execution of the budget and informs management on opportunity/risks vs. plan.
l Analyzes cash flow, cost control, expenses and financial statement to guide and advise MD.
l Ensures records systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting and auditing standards.
l Responsible for treasury and hedging operations and maintains effective relationship with banks and Paris HQ.
l Liaise with external auditors, co-ordinate and meet auditor's requirement in the performance of annual audits. Ensures compliance with local and Hermes reporting requirements
l Interacts with other managers to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analysis, reports, and recommendations.
2. Internal Control
l Establishes and maintains appropriate internal control safeguards. Ensures the safety of the company's assets (including cash and inventory) in accordance to group rules.
l Ensures compliance within the subsidiary and in coordination with Group audit team through internal control reviews with the region.
l Works in close collaboration with corporate and regional legal department for compliance matters.
3. LegalAdministration
l Manage the legal compliances within the subsidiary.
l Ensure proper contract management and compliance to group rules.
l Coordinates with regional legal and external consultants on legal matters.
l Works closely with the Regional Legal team on contract reviews, risk assessments and compliance matters.
Requirements & Capabilities
l At least 10 years of relevant experience in high-end fashion luxury industry or 5 years in similar capacity.
l Tertiary educated in finance or accounting.
l Familiar with financial regulations, solid knowledge of finance, tax, accounting budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
l Solid experience in strategic planning and execution.
l Good analytical skills, communication skills and interpersonal skills.
l Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
l Must be a good team player, pleasant, detail oriented and self motivated.
l Fluent in English. French will be an advantage.
l Hands on computer knowledge of MS Office and accounting system.
