Responsibilities
- Team Introduction: As the Finance Business Partner at ByteDance and a member of the Global Finance team, you will play a critical role in driving the company's continued success across global markets. This position is based in our Singapore office.
- In this role, you will serve as a strategic partner to key SEA monetization business leaders, providing valuable insights to support business decision-making. You will support SEA monetization leaders based in Singapore and across Southeast Asia. You will be an integral part of the finance team, collaborating closely with other finance business partners and cross-functional teams across the organization.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Financial Strategy and Business Partnership: Collaborate with business and strategy teams to develop forward-looking financial strategies aligned with long-term business goals Provide high-quality financial modeling, forecasting, research, and analysis to support strategic decision-making Drive in-depth financial evaluations for major investments, expansion initiatives, and potential M&A activities.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the team to build a company-wide annual budget planning process, coordinating across departments to ensure realistic, data-driven targets Monitor budget implementation and perform variance analysis to proactively address deviations and optimize resource allocation Periodically update forecasts based on dynamic business developments.-
- Financial Reporting and Communication: Prepare and present accurate financial reports, business reviews, and strategic updates to C-suite executives and key stakeholders Organize regular cross-functional financial review meetings to strengthen financial literacy across non-finance teams Drive financial data systemization and ensure seamless integration of financial and operational metrics.
- Cost Management and Process Optimization: Build and enhance a comprehensive cost management system that identifies control points across business operations, for instance, data center cost, labor cost and other major costs Develop actionable cost control measures in collaboration with the Procurement team, Corporate Information Systems team, IT team, etc.
- Optimize finance processes, establish cross-functional workflows, and implement automation solutions to improve organizational effectiveness.
- Risk Management and Project Execution: Proactively identify and manage financial risks and opportunities in support of global projects and strategic initiatives Lead or contribute to high-impact special projects, including competitive and industry benchmarking.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including at least 4 years as a finance business partner supporting an advertising or e-commerce business.
- Strong track record in financial strategy development, project execution, and performance management, with expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, cost control, and budget management. Hands-on experience partnering with business teams on initiatives such as managing and optimizing monthly advertising budgets, leading end-to-end rebate policy design and execution, and overseeing the profit and loss (P&L) for the e-commerce channel to drive revenue growth while controlling marketing spend and operational costs.
- At least 4 years of experience in large-scale international internet companies, with experience managing at least 2 direct reports and supporting Sales and Product teams as a finance business partner.
- Experience working with stakeholders across multiple time zones in global organizations, including the Americas (AMS) and EMEA regions.
- Proficiency in Mandarin is essential to effectively engage with Chinese-speaking stakeholders based in Chinese-speaking markets and the need to review documents in Mandarin.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong proficiency in data analytics tools, such as Matlab and Python.
- Solid knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and SOX compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams on strategic finance projects and provide data-driven-decision-making support.
- Demonstrated success in high-pressure, fast-paced environments, with strong resilience and adaptability.
