We are seeking a hands-on and independent individual to manage our Regional Malaysia account. As there is currently no dedicated personnel overseeing this function, the successful candidate will be responsible not only for day-to-day accounting tasks, but also for reviewing existing practices, identifying gaps, and establishing proper processes to ensure smooth and compliant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage full set of Malaysia accounts, including accounts payable and receivable
- Handle banking matters, payments, and cash flow management
- Perform monthly reconciliations and maintain accurate data entry in Deskera Books
- Prepare monthly management reports, including Profit & Loss statements and cash flow forecasts
- Support yearly audit and tax reporting requirements
- Review current accounting and operational processes, identify gaps, and implement improvements to streamline workflows and ensure compliance
- Manage payroll functions, including EPF, SOCSO, and employee tax submissions (Malaysia)
- Oversee HR-related matters, including recruitment, employee engagement, performance management.
- Provide ad-hoc administrative and operational support as required
- Provide ad-hoc support for Singapore accounts as required
Requirements:
- Proven experience in accounting, preferably handling Malaysia accounts
- Familiarity with Malaysia statutory requirements (e.g. EPF, SOCSO, tax compliance)
- Able to work independently, with strong problem-solving and process improvement skills
- Comfortable working in a dynamic environment where processes may need to be established from the ground up
- Experience with Deskera or similar accounting systems is an advantage
