Who We Are
We are a deep-tech startup based in Singapore, transforming global air cargo operations using computer vision, robotics, and AI. Our products are deployed at airports and cargo warehouses across multiple countries, digitising and automating cargo handling operations in real time.
Our deployments are technically complex: camera systems mounted on engineered structures, PoE networks segmented into dual subnets, a full microservices software stack from low-level C++ computer vision libraries up through ROS2,Python, Go, Angular, and MongoDB - all orchestrated with Docker and Docker Compose, and automated end-to-end including OS installation via Ubuntu Auto install. We connect every site to the cloud and monitor everything remotely.
As we scale globally, we need someone who can own the entire field - from bolting the first camera bracket to watching the uptime dashboard from 10,000 miles away.
The Role
This is a hands-on, high-ownership field engineering role. You will be responsible for getting our solutions deployed, running, and staying running at customer sites worldwide. That means you are comfortable with a screwdriver and a terminal in equal measure.
You will lead and execute physical installations - coordinating structure fabrication with contractors, mounting hardware, cabling networks - and then bring the full software stack live: configuring nodes, standing up containers, validating network routing, onboarding users, and ensuring the system goes live flawlessly. After go-live, you own uptime. You monitor systems remotely, respond to issues fast, and resolve them thoroughly.
This role is not for someone who prefers to stay in the lab perfecting algorithms. It is for someone who gets energy from solving real problems in real environments, who takes pride in a system that has not gone down in months, and who can calmly manage a difficult customer situation at a busy airport at midnight.
What Makes This Role Different
You Own the Full Stack in the Field
From OS installation to cloud connectivity, you will be responsible for every layer of the deployment - hardware, network, OS, containers, application, and user go-live. You will not hand off to someone else mid-deployment.
Physical Engineering Matters Here
Our camera systems require custom-designed mounting structures fabricated by contractors. You will work with contractors to specify, review, and install these structures - understanding load, alignment, and camera field-of-view requirements is part of the job.
You Are the Reliability Guarantee
Customer SLAs require near-zero downtime. You will build monitoring dashboards, establish preventive maintenance routines, and be the first line of response when something goes wrong - using remote monitoring tools before ever stepping on a plane.
You Will Travel - a Lot
Our deployments span multiple countries and time zones. You will spend significant time on the road, working in airport environments across different geographies, each with their own infrastructure, regulations, and operational cultures.
Key Responsibilities
Deployment & Physical Installation
. Plan and execute end-to-end deployments at customer sites including airports and cargo warehouses globally.
. Work with contractors to specify, review, and oversee fabrication and installation of camera mounting structures.
. Install, mount, and cable cameras, computers, PoE switches, and networking equipment at customer sites.
. Design and configure dual-subnet network architecture (PoE camera network and operations network) with appropriate routing, firewalls, VLANs, and cloud connectivity.
. Execute automated OS installation using our Ubuntu Auto install-based ecosystem and bring up the full microservices stack using Docker and Docker Compose.
. Validate end-to-end system functionality -from camera feed ingestion through computer vision processing to product UI -before handing over to the customer.
. Onboard and train customer users and siteteams at go-live.
System Uptime & Remote Monitoring
. Take ownership of post-deployment system reliability and uptime for all live customer sites.
. Monitor deployed systems remotely using our monitoring tools (e.g. Grafana-based dashboards) and act proactively on alerts before they become incidents.
. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and container-level issues remotely wherever possible, and on-site when required.
. Maintain and evolve monitoring coverage as deployments grow globally.
. Ensure all sites meet SLA commitments escalate and manage internally when resolution requires engineering team involvement.
Customer & Contractor Management
. Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers during deployment and ongoing support.
. Manage customer expectations professionally, including handling escalations and difficult conversations with composure.
. Train, brief, and manage contractors engaged for deployment or support review their work quality and delivery.
. Build strong working relationships with site operations teams to enable smooth deployments and fast incident response.
Continuous Improvement & Documentation
. Document all deployments thoroughly: network diagrams, hardware configurations, installation procedures, and as-built records.
. Maintain and improve standard operating procedures for deployment, go-live, and support.
. Feed learnings from the field back into product and engineering teams to drive improvements in reliability, deployability, and supportability.
. Identify and propose improvements to deployment processes, tooling, and monitoring to reduce time-to-live and increase uptime.
What You Bring
Education & Background
. Diploma or Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Mechatronics, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
. Practical background in applied computer vision and/or robotics systems - you understand how these systems work at a system level, not just theoretically.
. 3 to 5 years of experience in field services, solution deployment, technical operations, or a similar hands-on role.
Systems &Infrastructure
. Proficient in Linux (Ubuntu) - comfortable at the command line for system configuration, scripting, and troubleshooting.
. Hands-on experience with Docker and DockerCompose for deploying and managing containerised microservices.
. Solid networking knowledge: IP addressing, subnetting, VLANs, routing, firewalls, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, HTTP - and practicalexperience configuring switches and routers in the field.
. Experience with scripting (Bash, Python) forautomation of installation, configuration, and diagnostic tasks.
. Familiarity with remote monitoring tools suchas Grafana, and with cloud connectivity concepts.
. Programming exposure to Python and/or C++ -sufficient to read and debug application-level issues, understand log output, and modify configuration scripts.
Hardware & Camera Systems
. Hands-on experience installing and configuring camera systems, IoT devices, or embedded hardware in the field.
. Familiarity with PoE networking and camera network architecture.
. Experience working with 3D cameras (e.g. structured light, LiDAR, depth cameras) is a strong advantage.
. Comfort working with physical hardware installation in industrial or operational environments - including cabling, mounting, and alignment.
The Qualities We Value Most
. Field-first problem-solving mindset - you do not wait for the perfect conditions you find a way to make it work on site.
. Uptime obsession - you take it personally when a system is down, and you do not rest until you understand why.
. Calm under pressure - you can manage a tense customer situation at a live airport environment without losing your composure or your technical focus.
. Resourcefulness and independence - you can operate alone in a new country, in a new environment, without hand-holding.
. Strong documentation habits - you leave every site with thorough records so that anyone can pick up where you left off.
. Excellent communication skills - you can translate technical issues clearly for non-technical customer stakeholders.
Good to Have
. Exposure to ROS / ROS2 middleware and robotics software development.
. Familiarity with computer vision libraries such as OpenCV or PCL.
. Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms.
. Experience in the air cargo, logistics, or airport operations industry.
. Experience managing and quality-assuring contractor work at field sites.
. Exposure to Ubuntu Auto install or other automated OS deployment systems.
What We Offer
. A technically rich, high-ownership role where no two deployments are the same.
