CW Aero Services Pte Ltd is a Singapore-based Company, active for 20 years in the Aerospace industry.

We specialises in selling and supporting Aviation products mainly from high quality European manufacturers, to airports, airlines and maintenance centers in Asia. Since 2015, the Engineering department provides a highly qualified technical support for these products, as well as maintenance for other equipment within the major companies of aviation industry. Engineering services are provided in Singapore, and also cover all the Asian region.

Position Summary

As a Field Service Technician, you will support customers in the aviation industry by maintaining and repairing heavy vehicles such as pushback tractors, apron buses and loaders, as well as mobile and fixed air-conditioning units(ACU), gensets(GPU), air-starter units (ASU) and other Ground Support Equipment (GSE) typically found around the Airports and hanger.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will occasionally travel within the APAC region for rectification, servicing, training, commissioning, and other ad-hoc projects at short notice. You will undergo extensive training provided by our engineering team, with opportunities to enhance your skills through additional training in Europe with our partners.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to customers both from the office and on-site, performing maintenance works on their mobile equipment situated in airports
  • Create, revise, and amend work instructions, Risk Assessments, and other necessary safety documentation required for specific tasks or projects
  • Diagnose breakdowns in electrical and electronics systems mounted on Ground Support Equipment (GSE)
  • Troubleshoot alarms, repair malfunctioning systems, and replace defective parts to ensure optimal functionality
  • Commission new equipment and conduct training sessions for customer operators and technicians on operation and maintenance procedures
  • Inspect and maintain equipment to ensure operational readiness and compliance with safety standards
  • Issue comprehensive reports and documentation following maintenance activities
  • Maintain accurate timesheets to track work hours effectively
  • Ensure prompt response times to customer reports of breakdowns, minimizing downtime
  • Provide technical expertise and recommendations to customers to minimize equipment downtime
  • Direct daily tasks of technicians and provide regular reports on project status
  • Report faults promptly to relevant stakeholders including hierarchy, customers, and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs)
  • Assist in preparing budgets, service quotations, and project costing submissions
  • Cultivate confidence and trust with clients while prioritizing the commercial interests of the company
  • Be prepared to travel overseas within short notice periods for urgent support and project requirements

Required Competencies and Certifications:

  • Diploma in Automotive Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical) or Professional Certificate with equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience as a Service technician in relevant industries such as Heavy Industrial, Machinery and Equipment, Automotive, Transport, Aircraft Maintenance, or Oil & Gas
  • Experience in electrical troubleshooting on motorized equipment
  • Proficient in AC and DC electrical equipment, tooling, crimping cables, and interpreting electrical diagrams
  • Customer support experience involving coordination with hierarchy, customers, and company staff
  • Awareness of work safety protocols
  • Strong situational awareness and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to obtain Airside/Airport pass (No criminal record or blacklisted by airport organizations)
  • Fluent in spoken and written English foreffective client communication
  • Must possess a valid Singapore Class 3 Driving License operate relevant vehicles
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with a proactive and can-do mindset
  • Ability to work independently while also being a good team player with integrity
  • Must be able to travel overseas at short notice when required

Preferred Competencies and Qualifications:

  • Understanding of mechanical drawings
  • Familiarity with hydraulic schematics and experience in repairing hydraulic systems
  • Knowledge of diesel engine and transmission workings
  • Experience in Ground Support Equipment (GSE) maintenance is advantageous
  • Familiarity with airport operations and airside working environments will be an added advantage
  • Mandarin-speaking ability to support clients in Taiwan and China, facilitating communication for service delivery
