Job Description
Role Summary
We are seeking a proactive
Field Service Engineer to deliver high-quality repair and preventive maintenance services for etch, clean, and deposition equipment at customer sites. This role is responsible for equipment installations, relocations, start-up, and check-out activities, ensuring optimal equipment performance and minimal system downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation & Commissioning: Execute the installation and relocation of semiconductor equipment at customer sites. Conduct associated start-up, cut-over, and check-out procedures for newly installed systems.
- Maintenance & Support: Provide robust warranty and post-warranty tool support. Perform routine on-site preventive maintenance and resolve equipment abnormalities in close coordination with customers to minimize system downtime.
- Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Apply advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting techniques to isolate and resolve equipment malfunctions. Assess problem severity, determine corrective actions, replace defective units/components, or escalate complex issues promptly.
- Field Engineering Changes: Implement field modifications, hardware upgrades, and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) involving assemblies, sub-assemblies, and subsystems.
- Process & Reporting: Execute Tier 2 process qualification work. Maintain meticulous service records, accurate logs, part usage documentation, and comprehensive management reports.
- Customer Relations: Act as a professional representative of the company. Build strong client relationships during service contract execution and inform customers of technical product updates that align with their evolving needs.
- Asset & Safety Management: Manage and maintain assigned company tools, diagnostic equipment, computers, and spare parts in optimal condition. Ensure absolute adherence to workplace safety regulations at all sites.
Job Requirements
- Education & Experience: Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline with equivalent hands-on experience in equipment maintenance.
- Technical Skills: Proven experience in troubleshooting complex electromechanical systems direct experience with wafer fabrication equipment (Etch / Clean / Deposition) is highly advantageous.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients and provide clear technical solutions.
- Work Environment: Ability to work efficiently within a Fab cleanroom environment. Commitment to executing shift schedules and standby duties as required.
- Physical Requirements: Must be fit to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including cleanroom garments, safety shoes, and air respirator equipment where necessary.
- Mobility: Willingness to support short-term overseas assignments for project deployments or training.
