About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Field Service Engineer to support installation, commissioning, maintenance, and overhaul activities for industrial turbines and rotating equipment across customer sites in Singapore and the Asia-Pacific region.
This role is ideal for mechanically inclined engineers who enjoy site-based work, troubleshooting complex machinery, and working closely with customers in industries such as oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, energy, and heavy manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
Field Service & Technical Support
- Perform installation, commissioning, and start-up of turbines, pumps, compressors, and other rotating equipment
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance, inspections, and equipment overhauls
- Troubleshoot mechanical, performance, and operational issues on-site
- Carry out precision alignment, balancing, vibration checks, and condition monitoring
- Lead strip-down, repair, and reassembly of critical rotating equipment
Projects & Shutdowns
- Support plant shutdowns, turnarounds, and outage projects
- Execute emergency breakdown repairs and urgent site interventions
- Supervise technicians and subcontractors during field activities
- Ensure work completion within schedule, quality, and safety standards
Customer Interface
- Act as the technical point of contact during service visits
- Provide recommendations to improve equipment reliability and lifecycle performance
- Prepare detailed service reports and technical documentation
- Identify opportunities for service upgrades, spare parts, and long-term maintenance support
Safety & Compliance
- Comply with site safety regulations, permit-to-work systems, and HSE standards
- Conduct risk assessments and toolbox meetings before site activities
- Ensure adherence to quality and operational procedures
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- 37 years of field service, maintenance, or overhaul experience with turbines and/or rotating equipment
- Strong hands-on mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Experience working in industrial plants (oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, water, manufacturing)
- Comfortable working in field-based and shutdown environments
- Willing to travel regionally (SEA/APAC) and respond to emergency call-outs
- Good communication skills with customer-facing experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with steam/gas turbines, pumps, compressors, or turbo-machinery
- Knowledge of vibration analysis, alignment tools, and condition monitoring techniques
- Experience supporting major shutdowns/turnarounds
- Offshore, marine, or power plant exposure is advantageous
- Familiarity with root cause analysis (RCA) and reliability practices
