Role Overview
As a Field Application Engineer, you are responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of RFID/IoT systems across multiple client sites. This role requires software, hardware and networking expertise, hands-on problem-solving and client communication skills to ensure system reliability and performance. You will work both independently and with senior engineers to resolve issues, optimize system layouts, and support end users.
Key Responsibilities
. Installation & Deployment - Install, configure, and integrate systems, to ensure optimal performance and minimal interference.
. Troubleshooting & Maintenance - Diagnose software and hardware issues, perform firmware updates, and replace faulty components as needed.
. Network Diagnostics - Troubleshoot connectivity issues and verify proper configuration of IP addresses, gateways, and subnet masks.
. Client Communication - Provide technical support, manage expectations, and deliver user trainings when needed.
. Reporting & Process Improvement - Maintain detailed service logs, contribute to troubleshooting documentations, and recommend system enhancements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
. Proficiency with interpreting application and system logs to identify root causes and optimize performance.
. Proficiency with debugging real-time communication systems, including RESTful APIs, WebSockets and messaging protocols.
. Solid understanding of TCP, IP, DNS, HTTP, HTTPS, and common network configurations for application deployments.
. Proficiency with writing and executing database queries (SQL).
. Experience with using diagnostic tools such as a multimeters (preferred but not mandatory).
. Experience with cloud-based monitoring and remote diagnostics (preferred but not mandatory).
. Experience with RFID/IoT systems (preferred but not mandatory).
Soft Skills
. Strong problem-solving and technical communication skills.
. Ability to manage client expectations and work collaboratively with teams.
. Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software technologies, tools, and frameworks.
. Detailed documentation and reporting of site visits and issue resolutions.
Experience & Education
. 2-3 years of experience in RFID/IoT field service, IT support, electrical engineering, or a similar field.
. Experience with on-site troubleshooting, maintenance, and system installations.
. Diploma or Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, IT, or related fields (preferred but not mandatory).
