Role Overview
A Facilities Manager is responsible for the overall management, maintenance, and operational efficiency of buildings and facilities. The role ensures that the workplace environment is safe, functional, compliant with regulations, and supportive of business operations.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Oversee daily operations of buildings and office facilities
Ensure proper maintenance of mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) systems, Coordinate repairs, renovations, and improvement works, Conduct regular inspections to ensure safety and functionality
2. Vendor & Contract Management
Manage and supervise external service providers (cleaning, security, maintenance contractors, etc.), Negotiate and administer service contracts, Monitor vendor performance and ensure service level compliance
3. Compliance & Safety
Ensure compliance with local regulations, fire safety, and workplace safety standards, Oversee risk assessments and safety audits, Implement emergency preparedness and response procedures
4. Budget & Cost Control, Prepare and manage facilities budget
Monitor operating expenses and identify cost-saving initiatives, Approve invoices and track maintenance expenditures
5. Space & Asset Management
Plan office layout and space utilization, Maintain asset inventory and equipment records, Oversee relocation or expansion projects
6. Stakeholder CoordinationLiaise with internal departments regarding facilities needs, Support business continuity planning, Provide reports to management on facilities performance
