DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a Senior Building Maintenance Technician to maintain our facilities. You'll ensure the uninterrupted operation of critical systems and equipment that support our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. Working with building management systems and equipment, you'll perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement solutions to maintain optimal facility operations. This role offers opportunities to work with advanced systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and specialized laboratory equipment while collaborating with professionals in a GMP environment.

  • Responsibilities and Authorities

Perform a full range of maintenance and calibration activities on production and facilities equipment. Required on the job training will be supplemented with external coursework as needed. Primary duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Follow all safety and cGMP requirements
  • Perform calibration activities.
  • Perform certification of clean rooms and controlled areas.
  • Repair instrumentation electronics and equipment as requested.
  • Keep familiar with operation and maintenance procedures for all equipment in area of responsibility.
  • Troubleshoot all assigned equipment problems and monitor operation of equipment.
  • Design and fabricate parts and small systems.
  • Install and monitor new equipment.
  • Complete all required paperwork, work orders, inventory requests, and requisitions.
  • Keep shop and lab area clean and organized.
  • Keep current in maintenance and calibration technology.
  • Perform on-call and after hours maintenance activities as required
  • Manage day-to-day facilities maintenance activities that include planning, scheduling, organizing and execution of maintenance works. Coordinate, supervise and control contractors on the execution of facilities maintenance and improvement works, as well as new/existing leasehold improvement activities.
  • Co-ordinate and execute LOTO and follow all specified safety practices described in the Job Safety Analysis. Adopt behavior based safety and ensure no violation to any safety procedure which will cause safety risk.
  • Working knowledge in Permit to Work System, Risk assessment (including RCA, HAZOP, FMEA), Confined Space System, Work At Height and operate MEWP.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analyses (RCA's) to identify the potential root cause and follow up on all corrective actions and preventive actions.
  • Troubleshoot to resolve electrical and instrument problems, repair, calibration and return to service with minimal downtime.
  • Projects, A&A including planning & execution.
  • Perform tasks assigned by the manager.
  • Able to perform rotating shift work.

  • Competencies preferred

  • Has knowledge of common facilities operations e.g. air-conditioning system, compressors and electrical system, and able to perform simple trouble-shooting activities on breakdowns
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work with and manage Specialist, Facilities and contractors
  • Ability to communicate with all functions and levels
  • Ability to take initiatives and propose improvements

  • Qualifications
  • Minimum education requirement: Nitec, Higher Nitec or Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical.
  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Knowledge of how to use power and hand tools associated with typical industrial maintenance.
  • Knowledge in common calibrated disciplines: temperature, humidity, pressure, flow, time, mass, electronic, and dimension measurement calibrations.
