Position Overview:
The Purchasing Manager is responsible for planning, sourcing, and managing the procurement of raw materials, ingredients, packaging, equipment, and services to support both manufacturing and food & beverage operations. This role ensures cost efficiency, supplier reliability, quality compliance, and timely delivery to sustain continuous production and business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement Strategy & Planning
Develop and execute purchasing strategies aligned with production, sales, and operational forecasts.
Manage budgets, purchasing policies, and cost-control initiatives across multiple business units. - Supplier Sourcing & Management
Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for raw materials, food ingredients, packaging, kitchen equipment, and services.
Build long-term supplier relationships and monitor performance in terms of price, quality, and delivery. - Cost & Contract Negotiation
Drive cost-saving initiatives while ensuring product quality and sustainability.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and payment structures to minimize risks and optimize value. - Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination
Maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent stockouts or excess holding costs.
Coordinate closely with production, operations, warehouse, and logistics teams for smooth supply chain management. - Quality Assurance & Compliance
Ensure compliance with food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, ISO, SFA regulations) and manufacturing quality requirements.
Conduct regular supplier audits and quality checks. - Team Leadership & Reporting
Lead, coach, and develop the procurement team across manufacturing and F&B operations.
Provide regular reports on purchasing performance, market trends, and cost analysis to senior management.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 3-8 years experience in procurement, with exposure to both manufacturing and/or F&B industries.
- Strong knowledge of raw materials, food ingredients, and equipment sourcing.
- Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and supply chain best practices.
