Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Sommelier in managing the wine list and cellar inventory.
  • Recommend and serve wines to guests, ensuring a high standard of service and product knowledge.
  • Support wine pairing for menus and special events.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of wine storage areas.
  • Assist in receiving, stocking, and rotating wine inventory.
  • Educate guests and staff on wine offerings and pairings.
  • Participate in wine tastings, training sessions, and supplier meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing laws and health & safety regulations.
  • Handle guest inquiries and feedback professionally and knowledgeably.

Job Requirements

  • 5 years working experience in food & beverage service, preferably with exposure to wine service.
  • Basic knowledge of wine types, regions, and service techniques.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for wine and willingness to learn and grow in the role.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Certification in wine studies (e.g., WSET Level 1 or 2) is an advantage.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
