Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the express delivery service, including coordinating pickup and delivery schedules, optimizing routes, and monitoring performance metrics.

  • Lead and motivate a team of operations staff, including drivers, warehouse personnel, and administrative staff, to ensure productivity and adherence to company policies and procedures.

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, delivery accuracy, and customer satisfaction, and take corrective actions as needed to meet or exceed targets.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and reduce costs while maintaining service quality standards. Implement changes and monitor their effectiveness.

  • Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, such as courier companies and suppliers, to ensure timely and reliable service delivery.

  • Oversee inventory management processes, including stock control, replenishment, and inventory accuracy, to support efficient operations and minimize stockouts.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and implement measures to maintain a safe working environment for employees and customers.

  • Collaborate with the customer service team to address customer inquiries, complaints, and service issues promptly and effectively, ensuring a positive customer experience.

  • Develop and manage the departmental budget, including forecasting expenses, monitoring costs, and identifying opportunities for cost savings.

  • Prepare regular reports on operational performance, including KPIs, service levels, and financial metrics, and present findings to senior management.

Job Requirements:

  • 5-8 years of experience in operations management, preferably in the logistics or express delivery industry.

  • Proven leadership abilities with experience in managing and developing teams.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and logistics software.

  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to warehouse and transportation operations.

  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.

Problem-solving:

  • Address and resolve conflicts, handle complaints, and identify and mitigate potential challenges.

Regulatory & Safety Compliance:

  • Enforce safety protocols and operational procedures.

  • Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments.

  • Report and investigate safety incidents, then implement corrective actions.
