Experienced Tile Installer/Plasterer

Key Responsibilities

Prepare surfaces by removing existing tiles, cleaning, repairing, leveling, and sealing to ensure a sound substrate prior to installation

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and layout plans to determine accurate tile placement and alignment

Calculate material quantities required for each project to minimise waste

Cut tiles to the required dimensions using hand cutters, angle grinders, or wet saws

Apply adhesive, mortar, or mastic and set tiles in accordance with specified patterns and layouts

Install grout between tiles, remove excess, and apply sealant to protect and finish the surface

Use spacers, spirit levels, and other tools to ensure correct alignment, spacing, and levelness throughout installation

Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards, client specifications, and industry requirements

Maintain a clean and safe worksite in compliance with relevant safety regulations

Requirements

Proven experience as a Tile Installer or Tile Layer in a construction or fit-out environment

Proficiency with tiling tools and equipment including wet saws, angle grinders, and leveling systems

Solid understanding of tile materials, adhesives, grouts, and surface preparation methods

Strong mathematical ability for measurements, area calculations, and material estimation

Keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering quality workmanship

Physically fit and able to sustain prolonged kneeling, crouching, and manual work throughout the working day

Ability to read technical drawings and work independently or as part of a team
