Job Description:
Expediting Oversight:
. Lead the expediting team in ensuring timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services in accordance with project schedules.
. Monitor progress and address any delays or issues with suppliers, vendors, or contractors to ensure minimal impact on the project.
Communication& Coordination:
. Act as the primary point of contact between the project team and external suppliers, ensuring smooth communication and prompt resolution of issues.
. Coordinate with project management, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure alignment of schedules and timely deliveries.
Documentation& Reporting:
. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all expediting activities, including purchase orders, delivery schedules, and status reports.
. Provide regular progress updates and reports to the project management team, highlighting any critical delays, risks, or issues.
Supplier Management:
. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, contractors, and vendors to ensure efficient flow of materials and services.
. Track the performance of supplier sand work proactively to resolve any discrepancies in delivery or quality.
Risk Mitigation:
. Identify and mitigate risks related to delays in material deliveries, ensuring that project timelines are adhered to.
. Escalate critical issues promptly to senior management for resolution.
Quality Assurance:
. Ensure that all materials and equipment delivered meet the required specifications and quality standards.
. Conduct regular inspections and liaise with quality control teams to resolve any non-compliance issues.
Team Leadership & Development:
. Provide leadership and guidance to the expediting team, ensuring that all team members understand their responsibilities and objectives.
. Foster a collaborative environment and facilitate continuous improvement of expediting processes and procedures.
ContinuousImprovement:
. Continuously review and optimize the expediting process to improve efficiency, reduce lead times, and lower costs.
. Suggest improvements based on lessons learned and industry best practices.
Requirements
. Diploma / Engineering in any Engineering category or other relevant qualifications.
. 4-8 years relevant working experience as a buyer in O&G, Construction or Marine industry.
. Critical thinking
. Good working knowledge of Instruments, Valves, Lighting, cables, steel and electrical bulk material specification and industry practices
. Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint) / Proficient in SAP
. Meticulous, organized and ensure timely completion of tasks
