Position Overview
The Senior Sales Manager, ASEAN Expansion & Strategic Accounts is responsible for leading Autodesk's expansion sales motion across the ASEAN region. This role leads a team of Account Executives (AE) and Business Development Representatives (BDR) focused on driving new business acquisition, customer expansion, and Autodesk platform standardization across assigned account portfolios.
A key focus of this role is to build and drive a strong hunter mindset and sales excellence culture across the organization. The successful candidate will transform the team toward proactive pipeline generation, strategic customer engagement, and disciplined sales execution. While partners remain a critical scaling mechanism for market coverage, this leader is expected to ensure Autodesk leads the sales motion, customer strategy, and expansion engagement directly.
This role requires a strategic sales leader with strong commercial acumen, executive engagement capability, operational discipline, and proven experience leading high-performing sales teams across diverse and complex markets. The successful candidate will drive predictable revenue growth through disciplined pipeline generation, account portfolio management, partner-led scaling motions, and cross-functional collaboration across the Account Team Unit (ATU).
Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Business Growth
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing ASEAN expansion sales organization consisting of AE and BDR teams
Build and reinforce a proactive hunter culture focused on pipeline generation, whitespace identification, competitive displacement, and strategic account expansion
Drive consistent achievement of regional sales targets through strategic account portfolio management, disciplined pipeline generation, forecasting rigor, and execution excellence
Increase direct customer engagement and sales ownership across the team while leveraging partners strategically for market scale and coverage
Coach teams in navigating complex sales cycles including executive engagement, business case development, procurement processes, negotiation, and competitive positioning
Build a strong performance culture focused on accountability, customer outcomes, operational discipline, and continuous improvement
Strategic Planning & Market Execution
Define and execute regional growth strategies aligned with Autodesk's global go-to-market priorities and ASEAN market opportunities
Develop scalable account portfolio and territory strategies balancing short-term revenue objectives with long-term customer expansion and platform adoption
Monitor market dynamics, customer priorities, competitive activity, and industry trends to inform strategic planning and execution
Drive scalable market coverage through effective partner and ecosystem engagement while maintaining Autodesk-led customer relationships and sales strategy ownership
Forecasting, Pipeline & Operational Excellence
Own the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of regional forecasting and pipeline management
Lead regular forecast, pipeline, and deal inspection reviews to ensure strong execution discipline and predictable business performance
Drive adoption of consistent sales methodologies, CRM hygiene, account planning frameworks, and sales excellence practices
Ensure effective resource prioritization and alignment across strategic opportunities and growth initiatives
Executive Customer & Partner Engagement
Build trusted executive-level relationships with customers, partners, and strategic stakeholders across the ASEAN region
Lead customer engagements focused on business transformation, operational outcomes, and Autodesk platform standardization
Support teams in articulating compelling value propositions aligned to customer business challenges and industry priorities
Identify partner capability or capacity gaps and collaborate with ecosystem teams to strengthen regional execution
Cross-Functional Leadership & ATU Orchestration
Lead coordinated account-team selling motions across the Account Team Unit (ATU), including sales, technical specialists, marketing, sales development, customer success, renewals, and channel partners
Partner closely with marketing and ecosystem teams to drive demand generation, pipeline creation, and scalable expansion motions
Collaborate with Customer Success and Renewals teams to support customer adoption, retention, and expansion opportunities
People Leadership & Culture
Lead with a strong focus on coaching, talent development, succession planning, and inclusive leadership
Foster a culture of trust, accountability, psychological safety, and high performance across geographically and culturally diverse teams
Develop future sales leadership capability through active mentoring, coaching, and career development
Minimum Qualifications
10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience in B2B technology or SaaS environments
Strong track record leading high-performing sales organizations managing complex solution sales and expansion motions
Proven experience building hunter sales cultures and driving pipeline generation excellence
Proven experience leading sales teams across multiple ASEAN or APAC markets.
Strong command of enterprise and mid-market sales methodologies, account planning, and value-based selling approaches
Demonstrated success leading executive-level customer engagements and complex commercial negotiations
Strong operational discipline with experience managing forecasting, pipeline governance, and CRM processes (Salesforce.com or equivalent)
Proven ability to lead cross-functional collaboration and partner-led growth motions
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading sales organizations within the ASEAN market
Background in AECO, Government and infrastructure industries
Experience driving go-to-market transformation, customer business transformation, or platform standardization initiatives
Experience leading partner-driven expansion strategies across emerging and growth markets
Additional Requirements
This role requires a minimum of 50% travel across the ASEAN region to support customer engagements, executive relationship management, partner collaboration, strategic account development, team leadership, and regional business operations
The successful candidate must be comfortable operating in a highly dynamic, geographically distributed environment and able to engage effectively across diverse markets, cultures, and customer landscapes throughout ASEAN
