RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Exhibition Director to oversee and drive the strategic development, execution, and growth of our exhibition and conference portfolio. In this high-impact role, you will lead a dynamic team, manage key industry relationships, and ensure the portfolio achieves its commercial, operational, and content goals.
Strategic Leadership
- Define and implement long-term strategies for the portfolio, ensuring sustainable growth and alignment with the company's objectives.
- Lead market research and industry analysis to identify new event opportunities and enhance existing offerings.
Portfolio Management
- Oversee multiple exhibitions and conferences, ensuring each project delivers value to stakeholders, remains on schedule, and achieves profitability targets.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key partners, associations, and government bodies to strengthen the portfolio's reputation and market position.
Commercial & Sales Leadership
- Drive revenue generation through comprehensive sales strategies, including exhibitor and sponsorship campaigns.
- Lead the sales team and external agents, ensuring targets are met or exceeded and sales pipelines remain strong.
- Oversee rebooking processes and maintain database accuracy within the company's CRM system.
Conference & Content Oversight
- Collaborate with the content team to ensure conference agendas align with market needs and enhance attendee value.
- Liaise with the content team on the development of high-quality session topics, speaker recruitment, and panel curation, ensuring alignment with event strategy.
Operational Excellence
- Work closely with marketing, operations, and project teams to ensure seamless event execution while adhering to budgetary and quality standards.
- Oversee logistical and operational planning to deliver high-quality experiences for exhibitors, sponsors, and attendees.
Financial Management
- Take full ownership of the portfolio's P&L, ensuring budgeted gross and net profit targets are met.
- Provide regular financial forecasts, progress updates, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
Team Leadership
- Manage and mentor a multinational team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
- Oversee hiring, onboarding, and professional development to ensure the team's growth aligns with portfolio needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of experience in the international exhibitions and events industry, with proven leadership in managing large-scale exhibitions and conferences.
- Strong expertise in sales, brand strategy, and portfolio management.
- Experience leading and developing multinational teams.
- Exceptional networking and relationship-building skills, particularly with senior stakeholders, associations, and government entities.
- Strong financial acumen, with experience managing budgets, forecasts, and P&L.
- Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset and the ability to adapt to market trends.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and business planning skills.
