Main Responsibilities
TradeFinance:
- Manage and handle end-to-end trade finance workflow process(including import and export LC issuance).
- Work with other departments, ie. Operations, Trading, Middle Office, Finance & Accounting, Contracts, to facilitate business transactions in a controlled manner.
- Close follow-up on transactional monitoring and update internal transaction tracking position in a timely manner.
- Source for LC confirmation / discounting rates.
- Ensure the issuances of LC terms are agreed by the banks as well as with trading counterparts.
- Liaise with banks for any issues pertaining to trade and commodity transactional financing and Import/Export LC documentation
- Timely review of purchase and sales contracts from Trade Finance perspective on payment security, pricing mechanism, title and risk, etc to ensure company's interest is protected at all times.
- To work closely with Finance & Accounting team on all invoicing and export documents preparation and presentation matters.
- Close liaison with operations team to monitor shipments and ensurecorrect security is in place before releasing of cargoes.
- Close coordination with commercial team to ensure both operational and financing risks are mitigated and ensure adherence with compliance procedures.
Treasury/Cash management:
- Close work coordination with Finance & Accounting team to manage cashflow planning.
- To monitor and follow-up closely with accounts payable and accounts receivable for cargo and bunker trading activities.
Various tasks:
- Assist the Head of Department on other ad-hoc project and task, whenever required.
Requirements
- Degree in Business, Finance or other relevant professional qualifications.
- 3 -5 years working experience in a trade commodity finance role with a oil &energy trading company. (Work experience in a commodity bank will be an added advantage.)
- Good knowledge and understanding of all Trade Finance instruments, international trade policies and guidelines.
- Possess good understanding of governing ICC rules and guidelines such as UCP 600, ISBP, URDG, URC 522 and other applicable international trade policies.
- Experience in account receivables financing will be an added advantage.
- Good Excel skills and Microsoft Office experience.
- Languages: English, Chinese being an asset.
