[What the role is]
The Building and Construction Authority (BCA) champions the development of a future ready built environment for Singapore. Besides regulating building safety, we lead and transform the built environment sector in delivering a safe, high quality, sustainable and friendly built environment.
We are looking for resourceful, energetic and self-motivated individuals who are inspired to play an active role to make a difference to Singapore's built environment.
[What you will be working on]
- You will be part of the team to administer the building regulations on the safety of the faades, including cladding, curtain wall and exterior features eg. windows and air-conditioning units, of buildings.
- You are required to carry out site inspections and follow up with building owners to take measures in ensuring the safety of building faades.
- You will be working closely with the industry to develop new policies, regulations and initiatives to enhance the safety of the building faades.
- You will be also carrying out R&D works on faade inspection technologies.
[What we are looking for]
- Degree in civil & structural, preferably a practising professional engineer registered with the Professional Engineers Board. Candidates who are not registered PEs but are preparing for registration with the PE board would also be considered;
- Minimum 3 years of relevant practical faade work experiences including cladding, curtain wall and other types of architectural finishes.
- Has good understanding of faade materials behaviours such as glass, aluminium, steel, stone, and knowledge of relevant standards and codes for facades.
- Ability to work independently.
- Good team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
