Job Summary:
Responsible for overseeing the full project lifecycle from design to handover. Supports QA/H&S, Operations, Finance, and Business Development to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet all technical, contractual, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance / Health & Safety
- Ensure compliance with QA and H&S standards across all project phases.
- Follow up on site inspection findings and recommend penalties for subcontractor non-compliance.
Operations Support
- Coordinate with Operations to integrate constructability inputs into design.
- Ensure timely receipt of design drawings for tendering and site execution.
- Attend monthly site meetings and ensure site teams are present at design discussions.
Finance Support
- Support Finance in managing project cost provisions and ensuring timely client progress claims.
Business Development Support
- Provide technical input during tender submissions.
- Attend client tender interviews when required.
Project Management
- Review designs for value engineering and constructability.
- Verify subcontractor proposals and compliance with project schedules, budgets, and contract terms.
- Ensure timely cost reporting and manage subcontractor claims and disputes.
- Maintain strong client and authority relationships throughout the project.
- Lead and monitor design kick-off meetings, internal reviews, and client updates.
- Prepare for pre-construction meetings and report progress to senior management.
- Approve or recommend project documentation including design drawings, cost reports, claims, work orders, and variation submissions.
- Oversee subcontractor warranties, handovers, and post-DLP rectifications.
Documentation & Process Improvement
- Manage project documentation and archiving.
- Submit progress reports and recommend improvements to project management procedures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Building Engineering, or other building-related disciplines.
- Min 5 years of relevant experience in building and construction projects, preferably with exposure to industrial developments (e.g. factories, plants, warehouses).
- Strong knowledge in construction methods, building materials, and site management practices.
- Experience in technical supervision, reporting, and quality and safety assurance on construction sites.
- Familiarity with local building codes, safety regulations, and construction standards.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks under pressure.
