Overview
We are looking for a motivated communications professional to join FPG's Group Strategic Communications team on a 12-month contract. You'll support the team with the planning and execution of integrated comms campaigns across the breadth of FPG's businesses and corporate functions. That includes everything from launching new retail concepts to kicking off new signature programmes from FPG's philanthropic arm FairPrice Foundation.
We need someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, can operate independently, and isn't afraid of taking on new challenges as part of your day-to-day.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and edit communications materials, including holding statements, media responses, press releases, and briefing documents
- Build and manage media relationships with reporters and editors by pitching stories, handling queries, and executing other engagements like gift drops and media lunches
- Support the team with event execution, including on-site management of media, briefing photographers to capture key shots, to staffing senior stakeholders and GOHs
- Manage FPG's media monitoring agency to ensure that timely news updates are delivered to senior stakeholders
- Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation for relevant stakeholders
- Provide administrative and operational support as required
Job Requirements
- Degree in communications-related fields (e.g., Communications, Public Relations, Journalism)
- 1-2 years of communications work experience, preferably in engaging with and managing media
- Proficient in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong organisational skills with keen attention to detail
