Job Summary
ACS (Academy) seeks a proactive Finance Executive to manage daily finance operations, reporting, budgeting, grant management, and compliance, supporting the school's financial health and contributing to its educational mission.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions.
- Process invoices, payments, receipts, staff claims, and journal entries with precision and within deadlines.
- Maintain General Ledger accounts and prepare supporting schedules to ensure accurate financial records.
- Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations to verify account accuracy and completeness.
- Document and archive financial transactions to support audit and compliance requirements.
- Assist in preparing monthly and year-end financial reports and management accounts for informed decision-making.
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and monitor budget adherence by analysing variances and cash flow.
- Prepare and submit grant claims and funding reports, ensuring compliance with grant conditions.
- Support internal and external audit processes by preparing required schedules and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, organisational policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in strengthening internal controls and improving finance processes to enhance operational efficiency.
- Participate in finance system improvements and process enhancement initiatives to optimize workflows.
- Perform additional finance and administrative duties as assigned by the Manager Finance & Admin
Required competencies and certifications
- Diploma or Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- 2 - 3 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, bookkeeping, or financial administration.
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Experience in the education, social service, charitable, or non-profit sector preferred but not necessary
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
- Experience with accounting systems.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Team player with strong integrity and professionalism.
