Job Description

Purpose of the Role

The Caregiver Support Executive supports the development and delivery of Caregiver Respite programmes for clients with acquired physical challenges and their caregivers. The role focuses on providing emotional, practical, and vocational support to caregivers, enabling them to care for their loved ones while maintaining their own well-being. A key area of work includes supporting caregivers who wish to return to the workforce, thereby strengthening family resilience and financial stability.

Programme Development and Coordination

  1. Work closely with the Respite Lead to plan, implement, and manage Caregiver Respite programmes, including budgeting, manpower planning, and resource allocation.
  2. Assess the needs of caregivers and care recipients to ensure respite services are appropriate and well-coordinated with healthcare professionals, social service agencies, and families.

Emotional and Practical Support

  1. Develop and implement initiatives that provide emotional support to caregivers, such as peer support groups and stress management workshops.
  2. Guide caregivers on available resources and services, assisting them in navigating the healthcare and social service systems effectively.

Caregiver Return-to-Work Support

1. Design and implement vocational reintegration programmes to support caregivers who wish to return to work, including:

i) Skills assessment and career counselling
ii) Coordination with training providers for upskilling or reskilling
iii) Collaboration with employers to support flexible work arrangements and job placement

2. Organise workshops and coaching sessions on time management, balancing caregiving with employment, and basic financial planning.
Monitor and evaluate return-to-work initiatives to assess effectiveness and ensure long-term sustainability.

Community and Partner Engagement

  1. Build and maintain strategic partnerships with community organisations, government agencies, healthcare institutions, and employers to expand support networks for caregivers.
  2. Engage stakeholders to promote caregiver-friendly policies and workplace practices.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Diploma or Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or a related field
  • Experience in programme development, case management, or caregiver support
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of vocational training and employment support services is an advantage
  • Ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams and external partners
