Modern Workplace / Workspace Technology Engineer (Intune, SCCM, VDI/AVD, Microsoft 365)
We are looking for a Modern Workplace Engineer to support, maintain, and improve end-user workspace technologies in our enterprise environment. You will manage devices, virtual desktops, Microsoft 365 services, and security policies while providing L2/L3 support and contributing to projects and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
End-User Computing & Device Management
- Manage device lifecycle: provisioning, patching, upgrades, decommissioning
- Administer Microsoft Intune and SCCM
- Troubleshoot complex endpoint and workspace-related issues
Workspace & Collaboration Technologies
- Support Microsoft 365 services: Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint
- Assist with collaboration and productivity tool enhancements
- Support virtual desktop / remote access solutions (VDI / AVD)
Security & Compliance
- Implement endpoint security: BitLocker, Defender, compliance policies
- Manage identity and access: Entra ID (Azure AD), MFA, Conditional Access
- Ensure workspace environments meet internal audit and compliance standards
User Support & Operations
- Provide Level 2 / Level 3 support for workspace incidents and requests
- Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues
- Collaborate with service desk and infrastructure teams to improve support
Documentation & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and operational runbooks
- Participate in technology refreshes, pilots, and proof-of-concepts
- Identify opportunities for automation and user experience improvements
Required Skills & Experience
- Hands-on experience with Intune and SCCM (mandatory)
- Hands-on experience in Virtual Desktop / AVD environments (mandatory)
- Strong experience with Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 services
- Working knowledge of Entra ID (Azure AD), Group Policy, and endpoint security
- Basic to intermediate PowerShell scripting
- Familiarity with ITIL support processes
Experience
- 3-5 years in a workspace / endpoint support or engineering role
- Experience supporting enterprise IT environments
- Exposure to audit, compliance, or regulated environments is a plus
Soft Skills
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Good communication with technical and non-technical users
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proactive, team-oriented, and responsible
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Microsoft certifications in Modern Workplace or Endpoint Management
- Experience with ServiceNow or other ITSM tools
- Exposure to automation, VDI, or zero-trust security models
