Role Overview
As an Escalator Maintenance Technician, you will specialize exclusively in the upkeep, servicing, and repair of escalators, ensuring safe and reliable operation across Singapore's commercial and public facilities.
Key Responsibilities - Escalator Focused
- Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance on escalator units to minimize malfunctions and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Perform corrective maintenance and adjustments on escalator steps, handrails, drives, controls, and safety interlocks.
- Respond promptly to escalator breakdown calls, including after hours, ensuring rapid return-to-service.
- Diagnose, isolate, and repair escalator operational faults (mechanical, electrical, control systems), using proper tools and parts.
- Support statutory safety inspections and ensure escalators meet regulatory safety requirements.
- Conduct safety tests such as step alignment, emergency stop switches, skirt-brush condition, and handrail speed consistency.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service reports, and defect tracking for each escalator serviced.
- Record parts usage, site conditions, and post-service reports.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 years of hands-on maintenance experience in lift industry.
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces, with strong safety awareness.
- Class 2B motorcycle license and personal transport for site travel.
- Basic computer literacy (Word, Excel) for maintenance reporting.
- Responsible, safety-conscious, and able to work independently.
