Your opportunity

  • Execute trades on behalf of Portfolio Managers, adhering to Best Execution principles.
  • Ensure selection of the appropriate execution strategies, trading tools and Brokers for every Order.
  • Be responsible for trading oversight, including post trade allocation review, amendment and queue management.
  • Where relevant, conduct Transaction Cost Analysis on trading activity.
  • Support Portfolio Managers with portfolio construction and risk management through providing market commentary and / or information.
  • Liaise with brokers and counterparties to gain market information.
  • May enhance and support global Janus Henderson Trading team by working on specific projects to help optimise the trading process.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Must have skills

  • Typically IMC or CFA qualified or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a trading capacity
  • Preferably degree educated in business, mathematics or finance discipline
  • Knowledge of relevant sector/product/instruments for the role
  • Experience of statistics and data analysis
  • Microsoft office skills to include Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Interest in financial markets
  • Good time management
  • Strong work ethic
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Able to build key relationships with Fund Managers
  • Able to build external relationships with brokers
  • Ability to prioritise and manage risk accordingly
  • Cope well under pressure

Nice to have skills

  • Knowledge of, and or proficiency in TCA analysis and Data visualization
  • Understanding of, or explicit training in the use of programming languages
  • Knowledge of, and or proficiency in Market Microstructure analysis of regional equity markets
  • Listed and OTC derivative trading experience

  • Knowledge of financial markets, financial markets function and the impact of economic figures and national/regional/global events on markets
