Nippon Life Global Investors Singapore Limited was established in its current form in April 2013. Previously named Nissay Schroders Asset Management Asia Limited, the firm was renamed to its current name as Nissay Asset Management Corporation became the majority shareholder. The unique joint venture structure has allowed the company to quickly set up its operations, utilizing the partner's infrastructure and support functions such as IT and finance, and enhance its capabilities while cultivating its own investment culture, teams, and processes.
As of 30 June 2025, we manage USD 3.1 billion on behalf of institutional investors.
The firm has been managing Asian equity strategies in Singapore since 2001 and has expanded into regional ASEAN equity strategies and Global Emerging Market equities in recent years.
Job Summary
The analyst is responsible for conducting comprehensive research and modelling of stocks within markets assigned as coverage, maintaining up-to-date earnings models, and monitoring macroeconomic developments. The position requires making informed recommendations for portfolio adjustments based on research insights. The incumbent will also drive the integration of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives within the investment process. Additional research or portfolio management responsibilities may be assigned as necessary to support team-wide objectives. This role is to contribute to driving strong investment performance and will report to the Chief Investment Officer.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, financial modelling and recommendation of investment ideas. To write research reports with full financials, articulating a concise investment thesis.
- Assess the ESG performance of companies and write ESG reports.
- Prepare daily/weekly updates and monthly reports.
- Maintain/update databases.
- Support marketing activities e.g., in preparation of presentations.
- Assist in preparation of trades.
- Any other tasks, duties or ad-hoc projects assigned.
- ESG responsibilities (under guidance of Head of ESG) include:
- Conduct research on best practices for ESG integration and active stewardship (including proxy voting and engagement)
- Support development and implementation of ESG initiatives, including tracking/monitoring of proxy voting and engagement milestones
- Assist in preparing internal and external ESG reports
- Stay updated on ESG regulations, global standards and market practices.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics or related fields.
- c.3 years of relevant experience (e.g., in equities/advisory) is desirable. No ESG-related experience required.
- Proficient in Microsoft office applications and Bloomberg.
- Possesses solid financial analysis and modelling skills with an understanding of various valuation techniques.
- An analytical mindset, pro-active and able to work independently as well as with the team.
- Good command of English (written and spoken).
