Role Overview
Lead equipment reliability, maintenance strategy, and major equipment projects within a heavy-industry material handling environment. Drive equipment perfo rmance, operational availability, project delivery, and engineering capability development while ensuring compliance with Singapore standards and internal governance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead equipment reliability initiatives, failure trend analysis, availability targets, and continuous improvement of maintenance procedures.
- Establish preventive and condition-based maintenance programmes, spare parts management strategies, and lubrication management systems.
- Develop equipment design change protocols and review technical proposals for management approval.
- Lead major material handling equipment projects, including feasibility studies, equipment selection, engineering design, budgeting, tendering, and contract award.
- Oversee project execution, procurement compliance, equipment testing, commissioning, cost control, and schedule adherence.
- Provide technical consultation for equipment planning, review vendor proposals, and conduct local and overseas supplier assessments.
- Ensure compliance with Singapore engineering standards, safety requirements, and applicable codes of practice.
- Prepare technical reports, budget papers, tender submissions, and project progress presentations for senior management.
- Lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams oversee technical training programmes and competency development.
Ideal Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 15+ years of experience in heavy equipment, process plant project management, maintenance, and reliability engineering.
- Proven track record in leading large-scale material handling equipment projects from planning through commissioning.
- Strong knowledge of heavy-duty cargo handling equipment, multiple OEMs, control systems, and industrial maintenance practices.
- Experience in equipment reliability improvement, preventive maintenance, spare parts optimisation, and engineering project governance.
- Strong project management, budgeting, tender evaluation, vendor management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
