Position Overview
The Equipment Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimising process equipment to ensure reliable and efficient plant operations. This role involves developing and implementing maintenance strategies, leading risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to maximise equipment performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of process equipment.
- Develop, implement, and maintain maintenance SOPs, documentation, and SAP PM maintenance plans.
- Optimise equipment uptime through preventive and predictive maintenance practices aligned with Asset Lifecycle Care Management (ALCM) strategies.
- Lead and participate in safety risk assessments, FMECA, and equipment-specific Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Support equipment commissioning, qualification, and integration activities.
- Collaborate with Operations, Process Development, and Quality teams to resolve technical issues and drive improvements.
- Monitor equipment performance metrics and implement corrective actions to ensure reliability and compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in equipment maintenance, reliability, or engineering within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or process manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of process equipment and associated systems.
- Experience with SAP PM or other Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies (e.g. FMECA) and safety systems (e.g. LOTO).
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
