ExaSynth is a Singapore deep-tech company developing laboratory automation and Physical AI systems for scientific research. We integrate automation equipment, robotics, scientific instruments and software to enable the next generation of autonomous laboratories.

We are looking for a hands-on Equipment & Automation Technician / Assistant Engineer to join our engineering team. This role is suitable for candidates with a practical electrical, electronics, mechatronics or equipment maintenance background who are interested in developing their career in laboratory automation and advanced equipment systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on installation, inspection, testing, maintenance and troubleshooting of automated laboratory equipment.
• Support electrical wiring, sensors, relays, contactors, motors, actuators, control panels and other automation components.
• Assist with equipment installation, commissioning and preventive maintenance.
• Diagnose equipment faults systematically using electrical test instruments, technical drawings and equipment documentation.
• Support automated equipment deployed at research laboratory facilities in Singapore.
• Work with ExaSynth engineers and equipment partners to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• Maintain service records, maintenance logs, troubleshooting records and technical documentation.
• Participate in structured technical training in laboratory automation, equipment integration, robotics and control systems.
• Progressively develop the capability to independently support laboratory automation systems as a Field Service / Automation Engineer.

Requirements

• Nitec, Higher Nitec, Diploma or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Automation, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Hands-on experience with electrical equipment, machinery, control panels, wiring, sensors, motors or industrial equipment is preferred.
• Basic ability to read electrical drawings and use electrical test instruments such as a multimeter.
• Practical and systematic approach to equipment troubleshooting.
• Comfortable performing hands-on work and supporting equipment primarily on-site.
• Willing to learn new automation, robotics and laboratory equipment technologies.
• Able to work independently as well as collaborate with engineering teams.
• Good safety awareness and attention to detail.
• Candidates with experience as an Equipment Technician, Maintenance Technician, Electrical Technician, Automation Technician, Service Technician or Assistant Engineer are encouraged to apply.

Training and Career Development

Structured technical and on-the-job training will be provided. The successful candidate will gain hands-on exposure to laboratory automation, robotics, scientific equipment, electrical/control systems and integrated autonomous laboratory systems, with opportunities to progress toward a Field Service / Automation Engineer role.
