Job Responsibilities

1. Developing and Implementing Policies:

. Creating and updating safety and environmental policies, procedures, and programs.

. Ensuring these policies comply with relevant laws and regulations.

. Developing strategies to achieve and maintain compliance with internal and external standards.

. Implementing and maintaining health, safety, and environmental management systems.

2. Conducting Risk Assessments and Inspections:

. Identifying potential hazards and risks in the workplace through regular inspections and assessments.

. Conducting risk assessments

. Evaluating risks and recommending corrective actions to eliminate or minimize hazards.

. Performing compliance checks against internal standards, regulatory requirements, and legislation.

. Investigating workplace incidents and near-misses.

3. Ensuring Regulatory Compliance:

. Monitoring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.

. Coordinating with regulatory agencies and participating in audits and inspections.

. Maintaining documentation related to compliance.

. Ensuring the proper management of hazardous waste and materials.

4. Promoting Safety and Awareness:

. Developing and delivering safety training programs for employees.

. Promoting a positive safety culture within the organization.

. Conducting safety drills and awareness campaigns.

. Providing guidance and support to employees on safety matters.

5. Incident Management and Reporting:

. Investigating workplace incidents and near-misses.

. Analysing incidents to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.

. Preparing and submitting incident reports to management and relevant authorities.

. Managing emergency procedures like fire drills and first aid.

6. Environmental Protection:

. Monitoring and managing air, water, and waste management practices.

. Promoting sustainable practices and initiatives.

. Developing and implementing strategies to reduce environmental impact.

7. Other Responsibilities:

. Reviewing and analysing safety reports and data.

. Supervising and leading a team, if applicable.

. Staying up-to-date on industry best practices and emerging trends.

. Managing safety and environmental programs related to specific projects.
