Job Description

Key responsibilities include:

  • Implement and monitor the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) for the project.

  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and requirements issued by the National Environment Agency (NEA).

  • Conduct regular environmental inspections and audits of the construction site to identify potential environmental risks.

  • Monitor environmental control measures including dust suppression, noise mitigation, waste management, drainage control, and pollution prevention.

  • Implement and manage vector control measures to prevent mosquito breeding and pest infestation within the worksite.

  • Maintain proper environmental records, reports, and documentation as required by the authorities and the Superintending Officer (S.O.).

  • Coordinate environmental monitoring activities and ensure corrective actions are taken where non-compliance is identified.

  • Conduct environmental awareness briefings and toolbox talks for site personnel.

  • Liaise with relevant authorities and stakeholders on environmental matters where required.

  • Investigate environmental incidents or complaints and recommend corrective and preventive measures.

Job Requirements

  • Must be registered as an Environmental Control Officer with the National Environment Agency (NEA).

  • Minimum 5 years of post-registration practical experience relevant to the scope of works under the contract.

  • Must possess the Vector Management & Control for Companies certificate issued by the Singapore Environment Institute (SEI).

  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and environmental management practices in Singapore construction projects.

  • Experience in implementing environmental control measures on construction worksites.

  • Familiarity with environmental inspection procedures, reporting requirements, and regulatory compliance.

  • Good communication and coordination skills to work with the project team, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities.

  • Ability to identify environmental risks and implement effective mitigation measures.
