Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Architecture Governance

  • Define end-to-end solution architecture for the S/4HANA transformation, covering application, data, integration, infrastructure, security, and operations
  • Review and validate architecture designs for compliance with corporate, safety, and regulatory requirements.

2. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with business leaders in operations, maintenance, logistics and finance to translate business priorities into architectural solutions.
  • Partner with global and regional delivery teams, ensuring consistent implementation standards across different mines, plants, and project sites.
  • Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure clarity of design intent and business value.

3. Solution Design Oversight

Oversee the end-to-end SAP S/4HANA solution architecture.

  • Validate system integration with external applications such as mine planning tools, field data capture systems, fleet management platforms, and process control systems.
  • Ensure robust integration architecture across SAP and non-SAP environments using CPI, PI/PO, APIs, or middleware solutions.
  • Guarantee the design meets high availability, reliability, and performance standards suitable for remote, resource-intensive sites.
  • Work with infrastructure / cloud / platform teams on deployment options (on-premises, cloud, hybrid) and sizing for HANA, compute, storage, network
  • Lead proof-of-concept, prototyping, and technology evaluation

4. Risk and Compliance Management

  • Identify architecture-level risks related to cybersecurity, environmental reporting, and data integrity, and design mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct architecture reviews to ensure reliability and compliance with business continuity and disaster recovery standards.

5. Change Impact Assessment

  • Evaluate the impact of new ERP or digital initiatives on the existing system landscape.
  • Provide technical input on how changes affect scalability, data integrity, and interoperability across multiple mines or production facilities.
  • Guide teams on managing complexity during S/4HANA migration and integration with existing legacy systems (e.g., PI historians, MES, SCADA).
  • Support innovation roadmaps for sustainability, automation, and energy efficiency.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of SAP experience, including multiple full lifecycle S/4HANA implementations or migrations in Oil, Gas, or Mining sectors.
  • Experience leading architecture or solution design across global or multi-regional operations with remote sites and complex logistics.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across time zones and manage cross-functional, multicultural teams.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • SAP Certified Technology/Integration/Architect certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and project management methodologies (Agile, DevOps, hybrid).

Professional & Technical Skills

  • Enterprise & System Architecture Design developing target landscapes and transformation roadmaps aligned with asset-heavy operations.
  • Integration Architecture (SAP & non-SAP) including operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT) convergence.
  • Data Management & Governance defining master data frameworks for equipment, materials, and production data.
  • Cloud and Infrastructure Architecture
  • Project & Change Management experience managing complex technology transitions and stakeholder alignment in industrial settings.

Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence senior executives and operational stakeholders alike
