Duties and Responsibilities
Assist Staff Nurse (SN) in delivering nursing care to the residents and maintaining a safe and clean environment in the nursing home.
Care Delivery
- Provide quality nursing care with compliance to approved standards of nursing practices.
- Assist SN in new admission assessment and orientation.
- Carry out nursing rounds with the SN.
- Assist SN in ensuring residents take their medicines.
- Initiate activities as first responder at emergency situations alerts and supports the SN.
- Organize and send residents for appropriate therapy as prescribed.
- Coordinate residents medical check-ups & arrange transport.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care given.
Supervisory Duties
Supervise junior care staff to:
- Ensure comfort and good personal hygiene of the residents under his/her care.
- Check, monitor and record residents vital signs.
- Assist in the transferring and positioning of non-ambulant residents.
- Assist in serving diets and feeding residents.
Other Duty
- Carry out any other duties as assigned by the SN or Nurse Manager.
Requirements
- Shift work including night shift, Public Holiday and weekend
- Enrolled with Singapore Nursing Board
- ITE Certificate in Nursing
- Diploma / Degree in Nursing (foreign trained)
