Job Description
The Enrolled Nurse is responsible for providing basic care, promoting a therapeutic environment and assisting the multidisciplinary team in the delivery of care for patients under the direction and guidance of the Nurse Clinician and Registered Nurses.
Job Responsibilities
Demonstrate understanding, knowledge, accountability, and responsibility of the legal obligations for nursing practice.
- Maintain clear, accurate and legible documentation and records.
- Demonstrate responsibility and accountability for delegated care within scope of practice and level of competence.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect patient's right to dignity, autonomy, and access to information.
- Escalate and discuss ethical issues and concerns with RN.
- Respect the values, customs, spiritual beliefs and practices of individuals and groups.
Perform treatment and attends to other medical orders according to hospital policy.
- Accompanies patients to other departments for treatment/admission
- Performs simple dressing, venipuncture, Electrocardiogram(ECG), oral/ Nasopharyngeal swabbing and other nursing procedures when required
- Demonstrates competence in skills, knowledge, and attitude in the care of vulnerable patients, patients undergoing Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) or clinics.
- Performs close monitoring of patients undergoing pre ECT, during ECT procedure and post ECT procedure.
- Conducts Patient / Family Education and prepares patient physically and mentally prior to receiving any procedure and treatment in ECT or clinics.
- Maintains cleanliness and tidiness of Neurostimulation Service after each ECT session
- Demonstrates competence in skills in performing Patient Family Education and discharging patient after ECT treatment
- Maintains cleanliness and tidiness of Neurostimulation Service after each ECT session
- Practices strict infection control standards in the delivery of patient care
Participates in the implementation of treatment plan and nursing care plan
- Observes, checks, monitors and records vital signs of patients, and reports any changes or pertinent information to the Registered Nurse
- Involves in the periodic review of effectiveness of intervention, including patient's responses to medication.
- Assists in making arrangements with patient's family for review
- Carries out result management doctors order, notifies family and send OPS referral to patient with supervision of Registered Nurse.
- Notifies patient/caregiver on patient follow up appointment to other RH SOCs
- Facilitates the triage process of ADHD referrals, email ADHD triage form to Doctor in charge and notifies patient of their appointments and consultation charges.
- Practices strict infection control standards in the delivery of patient care.
Requirements
Educational and Professional Requirements
- Enrolled Nursing Certificate/ National Certificate in Nursing / Midwifery
- Enrolled with the Singapore Nursing Board
