Job Description

Our client, a well-established manufacturing organization, is seeking an experienced Team Lead, Engineering to oversee manufacturing engineering activities and support production performance. This role will lead a team responsible for machining processes, tooling, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring operational efficiency and engineering standards are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of manufacturing engineers supporting daily operations, including programming, tooling, process routing, and secondary processes such as honing, blasting, coating, and torque-up.
  • Drive Lean Six Sigma (DMAIC) initiatives to improve manufacturing efficiency and process capability.
  • Monitor production performance to ensure monthly efficiency and machine utilization targets are achieved.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for non-conformance issues and implement corrective actions collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Evaluate and introduce new manufacturing technologies, tooling, and machining approaches to strengthen operational capabilities.
  • Lead CAPEX initiatives related to new equipment or technology investments.
  • Support and promote HSE initiatives, including hazard identification, risk assessment, and implementation of control measures.
  • Assess internal machining capabilities and prepare subcontracting scope with detailed mark-up drawings where required.
  • Maintain and update 2D CAD plant layouts to reflect operational changes.
  • Support additional engineering tasks such as item code creation, technical documentation, and reporting when required.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Precision Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in machining or manufacturing engineering environments.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in precision machining, including multi-axis machining and secondary operations such as coating and torque-up.
  • Experience creating manufacturing process routings using ERP systems.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
  • Experience using ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage tasks independently and resolve production issues effectively.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and coordinate engineering support for production operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to demonstrate machining setup and operate machines, particularly during FA qualification.
  • Basic knowledge of product applications within machining environments.
  • Familiarity with API / 5CT specifications.
